He advises trustees and employers on a wide range of scheme issues, including scheme governance, benefit design, regulatory compliance, fiduciary duties, and ESG obligations.

Before joining Arc Pensions Law, Ian worked at leading City and specialist pensions law firms and held senior in-house legal roles at major investment managers. His experience on both the buy side and the sell side, including at the investment manager for the UK’s largest private pension scheme, gives him a unique perspective on how pensions and financial services interact, particularly in relation to the investment challenges faced by pension schemes.

Ian is a former member of the Association of Pension Lawyers’ Investment Committee. He joined Arc Pensions Law as a Legal Director in 2025.
