Arc to host online event on problems around pension scams and how to prevent them

Arc Pensions Law is pleased to host an online event to address the problem of pension scams.

Hundreds of people each year lose tens of thousands of pounds to a pension scam – often a pension that has taken decades of hard work to build up. It is personally devastating to those involved, literally losing their life savings, often at a time in life when replenishing savings is impossible. These scams also result in terrible damage to the reputation of the pensions industry.

The online panel session will bring together experts from the financial services industry, the world of pension trustees and consumer experience to discuss the problems around pension scams, and what can be done to prevent them and limit their effects.

Rosalind Connor, Managing Partner at Arc Pensions Law, will be speaking at the event, in addition to Richard Parkin, Non-Executive Director at the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), and Richard Piggin, Head of External Affairs and Campaigns at Which? The session will be chaired by Josephine Cumbo, Global Pensions Correspondent at the Financial Times.

The event will take place at 16:30 on Tuesday 20 April 2021.
