Arc Pensions Law welcomes new hires
We are delighted to today welcome Ian D’Costa, who joins our London office as a Legal Director.
Ian brings over 15 years’ experience advising on a wide range of pensions matters relating to both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes. He specialises in investment-related pension matters, including liability-driven investments, derivatives, custody, collateral and risk transfer solutions. He also has significant experience advising trustees and employers on day-to-day scheme matters, including scheme governance, benefit design, regulatory compliance, fiduciary duty and ESG obligations, and has worked on two successful master trust authorisations.
Ian’s career has spanned leading City and specialist pensions law firms, as well as senior in-house roles at major investment managers and pension schemes. He has advised on complex fund investments, fiduciary management mandates, and large-scale risk transfer transactions, giving him a unique perspective across both pensions and financial services.
Anna Copestake, Managing Partner, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Ian to our London office. His expertise across both general pensions advisory work and specialist investment matters further strengthens our team as we continue to grow. Ian is a fantastic addition and will play a key role in supporting our clients.”
Ian D’Costa commented: “I am very pleased to be joining Arc Pensions Law. The firm has a fantastic reputation for excellence in pensions law, and I look forward to contributing to the team and advising clients on a wide range of pensions matters.”
Our Leeds office also welcomed newly qualified solicitor Salim Al-Sabah on 1 October, who will be supporting the team on a range of pensions matters. Salim has practical experience of scheme governance, having worked for five years at a pension trustee secretariat firm before his training contract.
These appointments demonstrate Arc’s continued expansion of its capabilities and investment in the next generation of pensions specialists. The firm is committed to supporting clients through an evolving regulatory and investment landscape while developing the breadth and depth of expertise across its national team.
News of Ian and Salim’s joins was published in Professional Pensions, Solicitors Journal, New Law Journal, Pensions Expert and Legal Moves.
