Arc Pensions Law hires new partner from international law firm Gowling WLG to fuel expansion

Specialist pensions law boutique Arc Pensions Law continues its rapid expansion with another key partner hire, this time from the established pensions law practice at international law firm Gowling WLG’s London office. Jane Kola, who joins Arc as a partner today, is a specialist in defined contribution pension schemes.

Jane commented today: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the team at Arc as they go from strength to strength. I’m convinced that the boutique law firm solution is the best for trustee and corporate clients alike, when it comes to specialist services like pensions.”

Anna Rogers, Senior Partner of Arc Pensions Law, said: “Arc has heavy-duty experience in buy-ins and buyouts and this part of our practice is growing fast. We are especially excited about Jane joining us because, on top of her all-round pensions track record, she has handled one of the largest buy-outs the UK has ever seen. Her extensive knowledge and experience of buy-outs will help us meet the demand for free-standing legal projects in this area.”

Jane is ranked in Legal 500 for pensions, and the Chambers Guide, where she is described as “very knowledgeable and experienced, with sound judgement.”. Jane is also renowned for her “clear and concise” advice on investments and de-risking/ buy-out work, where she has led a team advising on some of the UK’s foremost transactions of recent years.

Last month Arc announced the recruitment of DLA Piper Leeds-based pension partners Kate Payne and Vikki Massarano, together with their team, to establish Arc’s first office outside London. Arc, which arrived onto the pensions law scene less than 2 years ago, now has a total of 7 senior and very experienced pensions partners, unusually drawn from six different law firms.
