Arc Pensions Law advises trustee of an arts-based higher education pension scheme on buy-in
Arc Pensions Law has advised the trustee of an arts-based higher education pension scheme on a £12mn buy-in with Just Group, securing the benefits of 155 pensioners and deferred members. The transaction involved close collaboration with Capital Cranfield as sole trustee, and First Actuarial as lead risk transfer adviser.
This transaction demonstrates how smaller schemes with complex benefit structures can successfully achieve their de-risking objectives through detailed preparation and coordinated project management.
The team at Arc comprised Anna Rogers, Sonya Fraser, and Riccardo Bruno.
Anna Rogers commented:
“We were pleased to support the trustee in securing long-term protection for members’ benefits. Despite the scheme’s complex benefit structure, the combination of close collaboration between all parties and sponsor support enabled a successful buy-in that represents a significant milestone for the scheme.”
News of the buy-in was published in Pensions Age, Pensions Expert, Law360, Money Marketing, and Consultancy.uk.
