Anna Rogers comments in Pensions Expert re Court rules same-sex pension benefit ceiling to remain

Anna comments in Pensions Expert after pension schemes dodge a potential £3bn cost hike, as the legal position on the equalisation of pension benefits for same-sex partners withstood further challenge in the courts.

Anna said the current position was “rough justice” but that sweeping changes would be a “huge extra burden” for schemes, particularly in the public sector.
She added “everyone is in favour of equalisation but the lines have to be drawn somewhere.”
